Niscon Inc. acknowledges that our offices and shops where we design and develop the technologies behind Raynok, reside on territory originally occupied by Indigenous People recognized as Canada’s First Nations.

Burlington, Ontario, as we know it today, is rich in history and modern traditions of many First Nations and Métis from the Anishinaabeg to the Haudenosaunee, and Métis nations. The lands spanning from Lake Ontario to the Niagara Escarpment and especially Bronte Creek, nearby Niscon’s location, are steeped in Indigenous history.

The territory is mutually covered by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Iroquois Confederacy, the Ojibway, and other allied Nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes.

We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather is part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit.

Design Engineer:

Evqueni Matveev

Place bell is a 12,000 seat multi-purpose arena located in Laval Quebec,  Niscon began construction on it in the spring of 2016. It contains a full size stage area and ice surface. The project manager was Mark Baudry and the design engineer Evqueni Matveev.

Place Bell project featured a manual Bowl Reduction, and the transportation of Scoreboard using a Gantry system. This system runs along the entire length of ice surface, using gantries to suspend curtains transforming one end of the arena to become a stage area creating a more theatrical environment.

Using a Gantry system takes an incredible amount of precision and safety as all elements that move vertically such as Scoreboards or Protective Nets must be removed in order for the gantries to move horizontally. Other products used contains MMDM (Machine Mounted Drive Units) CH-801s,SM-102, RAYNOK servers, MicroPlus Pendants and Custom Pendant Solutions

TECHNICAL:

  • Gantry Systems used to move heavy duty curtains horizontally across the arena in order to create a small more intimate atmosphere for concerts
  • Scoreboard repositioning (relying on our automation systems to safely move 20+ tons of weight)
  • Public Address system moved during hockey games

EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Raynok Server
  • MMDM (Machine Mounted Drive Units)
  • Micro plus pendants
  • SN102 motion controller
