Place bell is a 12,000 seat multi-purpose arena located in Laval Quebec,  Niscon began construction on it in the spring of 2016. It contains a full size stage area and ice surface. The project manager was Mark Baudry and the design engineer Evqueni Matveev.

Place Bell project featured a manual Bowl Reduction, and the transportation of Scoreboard using a Gantry system. This system runs along the entire length of ice surface, using gantries to suspend curtains transforming one end of the arena to become a stage area creating a more theatrical environment.

Using a Gantry system takes an incredible amount of precision and safety as all elements that move vertically such as Scoreboards or Protective Nets must be removed in order for the gantries to move horizontally. Other products used contains MMDM (Machine Mounted Drive Units) CH-801s,SM-102, RAYNOK servers, MicroPlus Pendants and Custom Pendant Solutions

TECHNICAL:

  • Gantry Systems used to move heavy duty curtains horizontally across the arena in order to create a small more intimate atmosphere for concerts
  • Scoreboard repositioning (relying on our automation systems to safely move 20+ tons of weight)
  • Public Address system moved during hockey games
